More About the Music Center

The Music Center of Norwich has played a role in the music of Eastern Connecticut since 1934. Originally named Four Star Music and located in the famous Flat Iron building in downtown Norwich, the Music Center has evolved with the ever changing music scene.

Steve Marquardt purchased the Music Center in March of 2005. He comes to the Music Center with a background in marketing and played professionally in several contemporary Country/Rock bands in the 90's including the Sweetheart Records band "Wildcard" where he played bass, sang background vocals, and was one of the primary songwriters for their original material.

Steve's goal for the Music Center of Norwich is to offer contemporary musicians internet competitive pricing and selection in an atmosphere that is more relaxed and comfortable than the chain stores that have come to dominate the market. He is continuing the Music Center's legacy into the 21st century by providing a place where all musicians, from beginner to professional, can find the support and service to help them realize their musical dreams.

We are now proud to carry a broad variety of instruments, a large selection of sheet music, provide rentals, offer repairs and a lesson program for the aspiring musician, as well as be a source of information and networking for musicians and bands of our community. You can find more information about all of these things on the various Music Center website pages!

From the home hobbyist to the professional musician, we want to be the source for all your musical needs!
